It has become probably one of my most feared noises, the little ‘bonk!’ of WoW crashing when logging in. Error #134. Error loading data. Was happening very frequently a while back, until eventually WoW simply couldn’t run, period. Ran a scandisk and fixed a couple problems, and the issue seemed to go away for a while.

It’s just happened again… Normally clearing the cache fixes things, but not this time. Hoping the repair tool will fix it, so I don’t have to reinstall WoW… I’ve got an Argent Tournament Champion title to defend! 😉

So I’ve gotten Watts, the adorable little Holy Paladin, up to level 80. Have been healing a bunch of Heroic dungeons and whatnot. Last time I played a healer full-time was back in the dawn of WoW when the biggest deal was Molten Core.

(Note: I never actually DID Molten Core. Akhul was a full-time Holy Priest doing dungeons and the occasional Zul’Gurub)

Last year, Blizzard unveiled the new Recruit-a-Friend program for World of Warcraft.  This was around the time that Guts and I were leveling up some new characters, and we agreed that the program sounded ridiculously awesome and that we should use the program to get the 300% experience and granted levels and zhevra and stuff.

We are coming to the end of our second bout of RAF, and we’ve leveled up quite a few characters, and learned a few things on the way.

DPS on SKULL

"omg hi!"

Leaves: "omg hi!"

Welcome to Bad Pull!

This is Leaves, the (currently) level 65 Druid.  She’s a bit of a ditz, but otherwise a real trooper.  She’s on her way to Northrend soon!  I feel like we barely even saw Outland at all.  Thank the Keepers for RAF!  But I’ll get to that in a later post.  🙂

For now, let’s just thank Leaves for her (ahem) willingness to sacrifice herself in the name of photo opportunities.

Real trooper!

Just as a bit of background on myself…  I’ve been playing World of Warcraft off and on (read: mostly on) since February of 2005.  As a player, I find myself a bit tough to classify.  I’m definitely too hardcore to be considered ‘casual’.  I log probably on average 20~30 hours a week.  I read about WoW mechanics, and I’m constantly trying to tweak my UI and gameplay to become better at the game.  On the other hand, I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I’m a hardcore player in the typical sense.  I don’t care for 25-man raids, I’ve never been on the cutting edge of content, and quite frankly I blow at PvP.

I think perhaps, all in all, that I’m probably a pretty typical player.  I have a full-time job and a wonderful family, and I play a bit too much World of Warcraft.

My hope is that there will be something in these posts at Bad Pull to which you, as a player, can relate.  I’m telling my story in this blog, but my story almost certainly has parallels with yours.  Over time, I may occasionally take a bit of a tangent to flesh out my experience (FFXI and UO, I’m looking at you *glare*), but rest assured that everything in Bad Pull will relate to WoW.

I think the best way to kick off this blog is the way I kick off all of my groups.

DPS order is SKULL, CROSS, STAR.  Greed on BoEs, Pass on BoPs, and please feel free to NEED anything that’s an upgrade.  Let’s do this!
